How to Pack Fragile Items With Bubble Wrap (4 Steps)

Get the most protection from every metre — the right technique reduces breakage and saves on packaging cost.

Bubbles Face Inward

Always wrap with the bubble side touching the item. The flat side faces outward to protect the bubbles from popping during transit.

Wrap 2–3 Layers

For glass, ceramics or electronics — apply at least 2 full layers. Heavy or high-value items? Use 3 layers or upgrade to double-layer heavy duty.

Secure With Tape

Seal each layer with parcel tape. Wrap corners and edges generously — they take the most impact in freight handling.

Fill The Voids

Place wrapped items in a sturdy carton with no movement. Fill empty spaces with extra bubble wrap or 20mm void fill — items must not shift inside the box.
